What are your candles made of?
Sweet Scent candles are made with all-natural soy wax, braided cotton wicks, and scented oils. Just wax, wick, and scent with no other additives or dyes.
How long do your candles last?
Our 6.75oz Classic Candles last about 40-45 hours if you keep the wick trimmed and only burn them for 4-5 hours at a time, and our 14.5oz 3-Wick Candles last about 55-60 hours if you keep the wick trimmed and only light them for 4-5 hours at a time. With normal airflow, our scented Reed Diffusers last about 4 months.
Why should I trim the wick and only burn your candles for 4-5 hours at a time?
These are general recommendations and best practices for any candle, and they are intended to extend the burn time. A larger flame is created by a long wick, and a larger flame melts the wax faster than the wick burns away. As a result, as your candle burns longer, the flame grows larger, causing your candle to melt faster. Maintaining a trimmed wick and burning for 4-5 hours at a time slows down the process, resulting in a longer burn time.
Additionally, if you light your candle for 4-5 hours at a period, the wax will melt all the way to the container's edge. Because it's the melted wax, not the flame, that gives your candle its aroma, this will help you get the most out of it when it's lighted. It will also keep your candle from "tunneling," or burning a hole in the center while leaving a ring of unmelted wax along the inside of the container.
